Waaaaaaaay Off

By Kelly Sullivan Walden, co-author of Dreaming Heaven

Sometimes the best way to see what’s in front of our face is to close our outer eyes and perceive with our inner eyes. Just as people who have lost their sense of sight are able to develop acuity with their other senses, in the Plaza of Recollection, we explore the world and review our lives with our eyes closed…in order to truly see.
I experienced great joy here as I walked across it, from one end to the next, in the dark, feeling connected to where I was going. Out of nowhere I felt Carlos, a gentleman from our group, join arms with me and dance me across the plaza. I instinctively felt he was leading me off course…and I would try to nudge him to straighten out, to no avail.

Because I had just released my masculine and feminine, I didn’t feel the need to “out alpha” him to get him to straighten out…nor did I feel discouraged because he wasn’t “saving” me and helping make the journey more efficient or direct. Instead, I just laughed and flowed (which I suppose was still a feminine thing to do…but it didn’t feel like a damsel-in-distress…so I went with it.) As we walked and danced, I reflected on the journey thus far…and, as instructed, engaged my intent to propel myself past the point of no return.

As it turned out, I was right about us being waaaaaaaaaaay off course, however there was a feeling of levity and enjoyment in the process…so who cares that we were the last ones in our group to arrive at the end of the plaza! We got there eventually—with smiles on our faces, having been the source of some much-needed comic relief for our group.
